Changes and lightness in the Driving code

On November 9th, the Infrastructure and transport decree 121/2021 published in the Official Gazette was approved and entered into force the following day.

It includes several innovations and changes to the Driving Code. Among these, some related to scooters whose maximum speed is limited from 25 to 20 km / h on the regular roads and it was confirmed the limit of 6 km/h in pedestrian areas. From July 1st, 2022 scooters will have to be equipped with direction and stop indicators (those in circulation before that date will have to adapt by January 1st, 2024). The obligation to take photographs at the end of the rental of shared vehicles has been introduced (to avoid wild stops on the sidewalks). There’s no obligation to wear a helmet for adults, but minors must wear it. To be clarified the possibility of circulating not only on urban roads and outside the city only on cycle paths, but wherever the circulation of cycles is permitted.
