This past December 1st, the year of the Italian Presidency of the G20 was inaugurated, which will culminate in the Summit of Heads of State and Government to be held in Rome October 30th and 31st, 2021.
The meeting will be chaired by the Italian Prime Minister and will see the participation of members of the G20, representatives of international and regional organizations, guest from other countries.
The Summit will conclude the work carried out during the year and will lead to the drafting of the final statement that will be adopted by the Heads of State and Government. A very important occasion for Italy which in 20221 is called to organize Cop26 on climate changes together with the United Kingdom (Glasgow, 1st – 12th of November).
The three main step stones are People, Planet and Prosperity. As the ambassador Mr. Pietro Benassi, Sherpa for the G20 presidency underlined, this is a precise message. We need to take care of the planet and people with an integrated approach, ensuring a strong economic recovery that is both inclusive, resilient and sustainable.
