Fuel prices reached unsustainable levels – petrol and diesel over 2 euros per liter – so high that the Government decided to cut excise duties.
For petrol and diesel corresponds to a reduction of 25 cents, to which 22% VAT is added for a total of 30.5 cents. Also LPG price was cut 8,5 cents that with the addition of VAT reaches a total 10,37 cents of reduction. The price cut is only for a limited period of 30 days until April 21st. Only methane gas price was untouched because its excise duties are normally very low thanks to its ecologic characteristics. Prices were so high to oblige some gas stations to temporary closures. At this time, while we print this article, the appeals of the operators remain unheard.
