November 17th is the World Remembrance Day to Road Victims, a day celebrated each year in a larger number of countries.

This year’s topic was entitled Objective 2020: a 50% reduction of deaths and seriously injured victims in car accidents. In fact, in the world, over 1,250,000 people lose their lives due to car accidents, and over 50 million are injured.
Despite the progresses made since 2001, the most recent European statistics show that 2014 and 2015 were stagnant years. 2016 instead has showed a slight improvement in the number of deaths, with a reduction of 4,2% of victims, in Italy alone. It is an improvement but not sufficient to reach the ambitious objectives that we expect.
