Ground Truth Perception by Nissan

The Japanese brand announced the definition of a new technology for driving assistance called Ground Truth Perception.

This new technologyallows to improve car safety while driving because it combines in real time the information provided by Lidar a mix of radars and new generation high performances security cameras that allows an accurate and precise vision of the surrounding environment. It can easily perceive precisely the shape and distance of obstacles that can be encountered while driving. A sophisticated algorithm elaborates immediately all of these information and evaluates the danger. If necessary it operates the steering and braking system automatically so to avoid a possible collision. Nissan foresees to complete within the 2020’s the development of its Ground Truth Perception, and then it will be available on every new vehicle within the fiscal year 2030.
