On November 5th, the first bio-LNG supply took place in Italy, streamed live from the Vulcangas filling station in Rimini. Bio-LNG is produced in the province of Lodi by the purification and liquefaction of biogas by a company that is a member of CIB – Italian Biogas Consortium. Mr. Piero Gattoni, Cib President stated: We are very proud the achievement we reached thanks to our partners: to make liquefied biomethane (Bio-LNG) a reality in Italy. To date, 20 new projects are already under construction or already being authorised or just being approved. The total production capacity will be between 4 to 27 tons per day and that will allow the decarbonization of the journeys of the more than 3,000 trucks powered by liquid methane currently circulating in Italy.
