PNRR: new resources allocated to promote bio methane production in agriculture

Recovery plan: the PNRR (National Recovery and Resilience Plan) provides for incentives to promote environmental sustainability.

Among these, specific resources will be allocated for the development of bio methane production in agriculture. We spoke about it with Mr. Roberto Salmaso, Sebigas’ general manager, an international player in this field with its 84 plants in the world, who stated: Italy is the third world producer of bio gas deriving from the agrarian-food sector with 2 billion cubic meters produced annually. Thanks to the PNRR incentives, by 2030, on the national territory, it will be possible to use 65% of livestock waste for the production of biogas, incrementing the bio methane production from 1.7 billion cubic meters to 6.5 billion.
