Climate, 14,000 years ago, the last melting of the glacier shell
Approximately 14,000 years ago, the last great melting of the Arctic glacier shell caused large volumes of cold and sweet water entering the oceans, altering ocean circulation and triggering climatic and environmental upheaval to tropical areas. The confirmation comes from Arctic Research (ARctic: present Climate Change and pAst extreme events), whose results were presented today at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in Rome.
