FORMULA E, AN UNPREDICTABLE FORMAT

FORMULA E, AN UNPREDICTABLE FORMAT

Season 8 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, the Formula 1 reserved for 100% electric cars, is drawing to a close with the Seoul event (August 13th and 14th).

At the Rome paddocks, on April 9th and 10th, Ecomobile was also there to closely follow the challenges of the competing cars. In the picture an exciting moment of the competition.
The new format allows the best teams and drivers to show their skills and abilities, with the opportunity for anyone to emerge by making a fast lap so to land in the top positions of the chart. Qualifying involves the formation of two initial groups of 11 drivers, sorted according to their actual position in the World Championship driver rankings, who compete, 10 minutes per group, using 220 kW power, in order to obtain the best lap time. The four fastest drivers in each group move up to the next round with two-way challenges: eight drivers will go head-to-head, using 250 kW power, from the quarter finals to the final round.
