Goodbye Diesel

The future of diesel really begins to be uncertain, and it is actually the car industry to advance this idea.

After the recent damages caused by the Dieselgate, a recent statement by the newly elected Unrae President, Mr. Michele Crisci (Volvo Car Italy) said: “With the new rules on emissions, in a few years diesel cars could be outlawed and the investment needed to keep these type of engines below a certain CO2 threshold could be impossible for car manufacturers”. This statement is coupled with a reiterated technological neutrality and is combined with the request for measures to facilitate the purchase of new cars. Also there is the need of an Effective Directive Group, driven by a Mobility Champion that has the capacity and willingness to aggregate all of the mobility stakeholders. We should not forget, and this is the engagement that the operators in the gas car section must take on, that the less polluting propulsion such as LPG and methane – including LNG and bio methane – must be able to take this opportunity to offer their product. The same goes for all of the improvement in gas emissions solutions offered such as aftermarket transformation: all of the gaseous fuels, successfully used for decades, need to take advantage of this chance.
