Gas conversion for cars: saving money without polluting

From the Euro 0 to Euro 6, each vehicle benefits from motor conversion to LPG or CNG. It is economical (savings even up to 60%) and environmentally friendly, because the level of all the emissions is extremely reduced.

The current supply network allows traveling without worries, with over 3,900 LPG distributors and 1,100 natural gas locations throughout Italy. The latter will certainly see growth in its networks thanks to the European Directive on the distribution of alternative fuels (Dafi) and to the agreements between major industry players such as Snam, Fca, Iveco and Api. Mirco Busi from the Cibiemme workshop gives us more details on the motor’s transformation, and also focuses on the transformation of dual fuel, diesel and methane. Which is the best implant to choose from? Depending on how the car is used will define the type of fuel additions are performed, LPG or CNG. Variations of usage include: average annual mileage or types of roads used: either highways rather than regular roads.  Also important is the mileage autonomy one needs and/or where to position the tank(s), or how much space is needed in the trunk space. For LPG the most used tank is toroidal shaped, positioned in the spare wheel compartment, but also could also be external under the loading floor. Maintenance and warranty: The ideal maintenance is the one suggested by the car manufacturer. For gas systems only the periodic replacement of the gas filter is needed. Warranty: Based on our experience in the rare cases where there is a problem we have always taken steps to do technical analysis and to understand what were the causes. There could be a manufacturing defect by the parent company, the installer or the manufacturer of the system.
