After the research carried out in 2019, the Italian Automobile Club and Bosch presented a new study – carried out by the Filippo Caracciolo Foundation in collaboration with the Turin’ Polytechnic Institute – aimed at demonstrating the effectiveness of the braking assistance system in rear-end accidents.

The results are impressive: the breaking assistance system allowed to avoid 4 out of 10 accidents, a 45% less. To come up with this statement, it was necessary to cross a series of data, including information on the people’s journeys coming from the black boxes of an Italian sample of 1.5 million vehicles in 2017 and 1.8 million in 2018, information on the nature of accidents extracted from the Aci-Istat database and the numbers relating to models of circulating vehicles (Public Automobile Register).
